1. What MTG Hookups is

MTG Hookups is a free service that helps nearby Magic: The Gathering players find each other based on the cards they have and want. That's all it does. We are not a marketplace. No payments, messaging, pricing, escrow, or shipping happen on the site. Once you match, you talk and arrange everything yourselves on Discord.

2. Eligibility

You must meet Discord's minimum age requirements and have a Discord account in good standing to use MTG Hookups. By using the site, you agree to follow both these terms and Discord's Terms of Service.

3. Your account

Your identity on MTG Hookups is verified through Discord, and your Discord handle becomes your public handle. Keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. Don't impersonate others or list cards you don't actually have.

4. Trades happen between users, not with us

Any trade, sale, or other arrangement is strictly between you and the other person. We don't verify card authenticity, condition, value, or whether anyone follows through. You trade entirely at your own risk. We strongly recommend meeting safely, preferably at a local game store or another public place, and using common sense.

5. Acceptable use

  • No harassment, hate speech, threats, or scams.
  • No illegal activity, counterfeit cards, or fraudulent listings.
  • No impersonating other users or pretending to represent MTG Hookups.
  • No scraping, automated bulk access, or attempts to disrupt the service.
  • Respect other users on Discord. Follow the server's rules and people's privacy settings.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms, abuse the service, or put other users at risk. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MTG Hookups is not liable for any loss arising from trades, interactions with other users, or use of the site.

We do not guarantee that matches will result in successful trades, that users are who they claim to be, or that information provided by users is accurate.

Because we never participate in the actual trade, disputes are between the people involved.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site grows. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
